THE EVIDENCE

Not everything in the archive has the same evidential status. This section records where information comes from, so memory, documentation and interpretation are not quietly merged into one story.
CONTEMPORANEOUS
Highest priority. Original recordings, dated posts, messages, project files, screenshots and other material created at or close to the time being investigated.
NEAR-CONTEMPORANEOUS
Records made later but close enough in time to help establish chronology, context or what was believed at the time.
REMEMBERED
Later recollections of events. Valuable, but distinguished from records made when the events occurred.
INTERPRETED
Explanations, connections and meanings developed after the material existed. Interpretations can be interesting without becoming facts.
UNVERIFIED
Claims or details for which the archive currently lacks sufficient independent support. They remain visible, but are not upgraded by repetition.
