ABOUT THE ARCHIVE

SILICON PSYCHOSIS
An ongoing body of music, recordings, images, experiments and writing by Ian Henley.
The material spans different periods, methods and interpretations. Some of it was deliberately constructed; some emerged through experimentation; some was understood differently later.
This website brings together the surviving material and records surrounding it.
It is an archive rather than a definitive explanation.
WHY THIS ARCHIVE EXISTS
This website is an attempt to catalogue and explore a remarkably unique period of my life — a period of intense creativity, discovery and strange experiences that changed me as a human being.
During this time I experienced moments when I thought I might be losing my mind, alongside moments when I felt I was making a remarkable discovery that might somehow change the world. That contradiction became part of the experience itself.
The experiences surrounding the music also seemed to connect with equally strange experiences from other periods of my life. Some of those connections only emerged much later.
I have spent a long time trying to make sense of what happened, and for long periods I pushed much of it back into my mind. I am still not certain what to make of it. But I feel the story deserves to be shared.
FOR THE VISITOR
I hope the archive is clear enough to explore, while leaving room for the mystery that remains.
Most of all, I hope people enjoy discovering the music, the stories and the strange connections that surround it.

THE QUESTION
Am I creating Silicon Psychosis, or discovering Silicon Psychosis?
