THE SOURCE

THE SOURCE
Somewhere within the story is the idea of a Source.
It appears in different forms and at different times — sometimes as an explanation, sometimes as a possibility, sometimes simply as a question.
Its meaning remains unresolved.
This page gathers the traces.
THE EXPERIENCE
During the intense creative period around 2011–2013, the artist wondered whether some of the music was being channelled rather than consciously composed. This occurred alongside isolation, emotional upheaval, intense creative absorption and uncertainty about what was happening.
ARTIST TESTIMONYTHE OLDER MEMORY
The question connects backwards to the Exodus rave experience of the early 1990s, where the artist recalls music seeming to come from inside his head while a group collectively experienced an intense sense of ascent or transcendence.
Much later, Mindship Man became associated with the attempt to rediscover the quality of that experience.
THE CHATGPT ARCHIVE
In the exported conversations the artist describes the possibility that music was being “channelled”, while also explicitly questioning whether he might instead have been experiencing psychosis. The archive therefore contains the uncertainty itself as historical material.
Later AI-written language sometimes turns this ambiguity into mythology. That later language should not be confused with what the artist originally knew or believed.
PROVENANCE CRITICAL // LATER AI TRANSFORMATION EXISTSCOMPETING READINGS
Ordinary creative flow, unconscious composition, memory retrieval, altered state, spiritual/channeling interpretation, or an unresolved mixture are all possible lenses. None is established by the archive.
