THE INNER READING
The psychological interpretation does not require the alien material to be literally alien. The Dream Man can be read as a recurring childhood image. The Greys can be understood through modern mythology and archetypal imagery. Machines can become extensions of thought. The hive mind can describe collective psychology. Fear can be externalised into entities and conflicts.
THE CREATIVE PERIOD
The 2011–2013 period was later remembered by the artist as emotionally intense, socially isolated and creatively absorbed. The archive should not diagnose that period, but the artist's own question — whether the music was being channelled or whether he might be psychotic — is historically important because it shows that competing explanations were already part of the experience.
THE MUSIC AS TRANSFORMATION
Under this reading, the late sequence becomes an attempt to transform internal experience rather than contact an external intelligence. Same melody becomes synchronisation with other people. Agapism becomes an ethical direction. Mindship Man becomes a model of expanded consciousness. The civilisation reset becomes an imaginative intervention in the social world.
THE LIMIT
A psychological explanation can account for meaning without proving that every event was internally generated. Nor can it establish that external phenomena were present. It is one explanatory model among several.
